So much has transpired in the nearly two years since my last entry. It would be utterly impossible to condense these events into a single post. My family has celebrated many accomplishments, welcomed new life, embraced heartbreak, and welcomed healing. We've had quarrels and squabbles and everything in between. We welcomed a new grandbaby in the summer of 2021, Alaina Mae, or Moo Moo, as some like to call her. She is the definition of pure joy. Alongside her older sister, Avery Lynn, the two of them make my "Gamma" heart overflow with love. Over these 23 months, we have driven from Wisconsin to Tennessee and back again, loaded and unloaded cars and trucks hauling precious cargo and a few million toys. We proudly watched as our son graduated high school and our youngest began her own high school journey. We watched as our oldest daughter created a home for her family and cared for her babies while her husband was deployed on the other side of the globe. We felt tremendous relief when he safely made his way back home to his family. February 2021 seems to have been a lifetime ago. Our lives shifted, derailed, nose-dived, and resurfaced. Looking back on these last 23 months, I made the decision to make more of an effort to share the muckiness that is my life and embrace the chaos as we enter into a new year, a new season, and a new adventure.
